When you need to send an Employee to a Customer Site at a scheduled time, you are dispatching a Work Order. In GoServicePro, a Work Order can be dispatched in several different ways.
- From the Dispatch Board, under My Work in the Workspace Area menu
- From the Search Resources icon in Case Work Order
- From the Search Resources icon in a Work Order‘s ribbon menu
No matter which area you choose, there will be a set number of options for actually dispatching an Employee on a Work Order. For a full description of what each menu item does, refer to the Search Resources at the bottom of this page.
When you first enter the Dispatch Board, you may have to click “Search” to view Work Orders that need assigned.
Once data is viewable in the “Needs Assignment” tab, click on a ‘green’ Work Order and then go to the “Search Resources” sub-menu or click on “Assign” to assign an Employee.
If you choose Dispatch Advisor, a window comes up where you can search for resources to assign and view by availability (Gantt) or by location (Map).
When ready, click the box next to the resource and then click “Assign to User” (or simply click the button directly).
To get to the Case Work Orders screen, open a Case and click on “Work Orders” under the Details menu to the left.
Once on the Case Work Orders screen, click the “Search Resources” icon in the ribbon menu.
Clicking the Search Resources icon allows you to select from a dropdown menu where you can choose Dispatch Advisor, Manual Lookup, Auto Assign, Availability Matrix, or Dispatch Board. These are all different ways to dispatch a Work Order.
Note: Clicking the Dispatch Board is the same thing as going to the Dispatch Board in the left, Workspace menu under My Work.
The Work Order dispatch screen is similar to the Case Work Order screen with similar dropdown menu options.
The only exceptions are the “Reschedule” and “Debug” menu items.
