Once a new Work Order is created, a new tab appears with basic information from the Case already filled in. Generally the next step is to assign the Work Order to a person or queue. In the form’s ribbon toolbar, under the “Workflow” area select “Assign to User”.
This will bring up a popup window with options to assign the Work Order to yourself, another person, or to a queue. You can also change the status at this time.
Persons vs. Queue
If you assign it to yourself or a specific person you will be prompted to Re-order Jobs for that person. This is not the same as dispatching a person.
Compare this to assigning the Work Order to a queue, which simply takes you back to the “Assign” dialog box where you’re prompted to “Save and Close.”
If you make any other changes, click the “Save” button in the top ribbon toolbar. While the Work Order is automatically saved upon creation, any changes after creation aren’t saved until you click “Save”.
