Internal Sites are important for your organization to add in order to quickly find Employees for various tasks. Typically this organizational structure is a very simple representation of your company’s internal structure and are different than Customer Sites*.
*Customer Sites, which are external, are typically your customer’s locations.
GoServicePro relies on the following internal organizational structure to display your company:
The “Business Unit” is typically your company name. “Region”, “District”, and “Office” are all Internal Sites. “Individuals” refers to Contacts or Employees. Each object can nest under the object above it.
- Business Unit
Each of these represents a different level in the Organizational Hierarchy. If your business has a relatively flat structure, you may choose to only have one site at each level. If your business is more complex, you can add additional sites.
There are three types of Internal Sites:
How to Add a New Internal Site
On the left side of GoServicePro, in the Workspace area, click on My Work, and then click on My Organization.
This will open a form window on the right that includes a hierarchical view of the company on the left, a ribbon menu at the top, and multiple tabs on the right. The right form’s Business Location, Sites, Contacts, Employees, and Map tabs all contain fields where you can read or update Internal Site information.
Under Company Organization, click the level under which you want to add an Internal Site. (Ex. click Business Unit to add a Region, Region to add a District, or District to add an Office.)
In the ribbon bar above, click Add Region, Add District, or Add Office to add each item, respectively. Each level of the organization will display a different ‘add’ icon.
Any level of the organization can add an Employee or display service and and sales information.
There is also a right-click menu on each level of the organization that you can use to quickly add level-related information.
Once you’ve clicked on what item you’d like to add, a window will pop-up asking for information about the new item.
Fill in your data. The items with a red asterisk (*) next to it must be filled out. Clicking the Geocode Address button is also mandatory. Once done, click Save and Close.
The new internal site can now be seen under the appropriate unit on the left under the My Organization menu. The site will also appear on the right in a grid under a tab called “Sites”.
